Eyre Bird Observatory

Eyre Bird Observatory (Corporate Banding Station)

Aims: To gather and record the Ecology, morphology, movement and population dynamics of birds on the coast of the Great Australian Bight.

Project 1: Mallee birds.

Project 2: Birds of Kanidal Beach.

Project 3: Honeyeaters.

Site Description:

The first Bird Observatory established in Australia. Situated in the Nuytsland Nature Reserve on the coast, 47 km S of Cocklebiddy on the Eyre Hwy. Set in consolidated dunes, sand plains with mallee woodland and coastal vegetation.
