Aims: The aim of Project #8531 is to estimate the longevity of passerines near Manjimup WA

Site Description: Karri/Marri open forest with Karri Hazel undergrowth. We work along an old road which has now become a firebreak.

Other Information: Smith Brook banding station is situated in a conservation reserve controlled by the Department of Environment & Conservation. This area was first used by Dick and Molly Brown from the 70s to 90s. Ian and Eleanor Rowley worked on the Red-winged Fairy-wrens in 80s - 90s and the project was taken over by the Western Banders Association in 1999.

Warren Grange Bed & Breakfast is just 1.5 km from the banding site. As it is a farm, members are able to camp there, while others choose to use the rooms available.
